LP of the Week (Coldplay – X&Y)

In hoping to write more on this blog, I am starting a feature that I have thought about for a while, and that is featuring an album each week.

So to start of I am featuring Coldplay’s third album, X&Y, or the album that came out before Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.

I can’t really think of much to say about this album besides it is another good Coldplay album (another reason to write more in this blog, so I can elaborate more, and write better) . As I mentioned it is the album before Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, so it was still the Coldplay that was more accessible, at least for the mainstream listener.

X&Y was released June 6 2005, three years before Viva la Vida.

“Speed of Sound” reminds me of when the St. Louis Cardinals spoiled what would have been the Houston Astros winning the NLCS in game 5. FOX used that song when recapping the Albert Pujols home run that gave the Cardinals the lead, and went on to win the game 5-4. Joe Buck said something to the effect of things can change at the speed of sound.
