AlunaGeorge being the London electronic music duo of Aluna Francis and George Reid.
Their debut, Body Music, is set for a July 1 release.
Check out “Just a Touch” from their You Know You Like It EP.
Sounds promising to say the least!
The previous three BBC Sound of winners in descending order: Frank Ocean, James Blake and Marina and the Diamonds!
Second edition of ‘Montreal Music’!
Blue Hawaii are a side project of Braids’ Raphaelle Standell-Preston. Like Braids, they play art rock with a bit of experimental stuff, and I would agree with Wikipedia assessment of Braids as being shoe-gaze.
They will be commencing a tour soon (see the end of this post), with the CD launch for their new album Untogether this Thursday night at La Plante with Doldrums, who are also launching a new disc (dual CD launch!), the show is only $5 in advance, or $8 at the door.
Track 2, “Try to Be”, from their upcoming album:

I can be notoriously bad at listening to new music right once it comes out. I have yet to hear De La’s Plug 1 & Plug 2 Present… First Serve, which was released almost a year ago. Their first effort since 2004s terrific The Grind Date.
So, for tonight’s SoundCloudSunday, an already established act, De La Soul. True hip hop!
Check out two track’s from First Serve:
First Serve is the brainchild of French producers/ DJ’s, 2 & 4 (aka Chokolate & Kahlid), who met as master turntablists at the 2004 DMC Championship. After an instant meeting of minds they decided to embark on a musical adventure – a Hip Hop album played by musicians. All they needed was a couple of MC’s to help complete their vision. Enter NY based Jacob ‘Pop’ Life and Deen ‘D’ Whitter.
Check them out on SoundCloud to hear more, including a First Serve mixtape.
De La Soul/First Serve:
I received an email that Katie Noonan, well established Australian singer will be playing a few rare U.S. tour dates. Take a listen to Breathe in Now:
Very Kate Bush like in my opinion. I have heard her by name, but do not know her very well.
And check out a video from an album she released last year with Karin Schaupp:
Here are the select dates:
2.27 Philadelphia, PA @ Tin Angel
2.28 New York City, NY @ Rockwood Music Hall
3.2 Los Angeles, CA @ Room 5
Listen to plenty more at her website!
I have almost recovered from my bout with sickness, although tired now (I knew a post a day for a year would be tough at times!), so reblogging from LadyIndie.com. A carbon copy of her post, save for what I put in square brackets, and I omitted the tour date ticket links.
Bat For Lashes (Natasha Khan) has a new fantastically artistic video for the song ‘Lilies’ which you can find on her latest studio album, ‘The Haunted Man’. Buy ‘The Haunted Man’ [from various sources on her website].

Read her actual guest post from my blog late last year: Laura Mvula, guest blog post from Katie at Lady Indie (ladyindie.com)
And read my guest post at her blog: Emeli Sandé artist profile.
Thanks for reading, even if not all of my own words put together!
Unfortunately, they seem to be on an indefinite hiatus.
Those Dancing Days are a Swedish all female indie-pop act (according to Wikipedia), although according to the first song I heard of theirs (“Fuckarias”), I’d sya indie-rock too.
“Fuckarias” was yesterday’s Music Video of the Day:
They have two albums out (In Our Space Hero Suits, 2008 and Daydreams & Nightmares, 2011) and one selt-titled EP from 2007.
Check out one of, if not their first music video:
And another from their debut:
I will definitely be checking out their recorded output for a future blog post perhaps!
